Intro to Metal Clay

Service Description
Learn the basics of working with metal clay and make your own jewelry (earrings and pendants). All pieces will be made in fine silver - .999 silver. You will be able to make a pendant/pair of earrings, possibly more based upon the size of your pieces. Instructors will demo firing pieces with a torch and how to complete into a necklace and or earrings. All pieces will be fired in a kiln after the class and available for pick up at the studio two weeks after the class. Class fee includes materials and supplies for use in class. Instructor Carol White holds a level four certification in PMC (Precious Metal Clay). She has been designing jewelry for 28 years and working with metal clay for more than 20 years. Carol shares that her favorite part of working with metal clay is the endless possibilities - from creating your own textures or your own shape to adding gemstones for that unique look. Minimum 8 students required for class to run. AGE MINIMUM: 16 years Minors must be accompanied by an adult PREREQUISITES: No prerequisites

PAYMENT POLICY: - Payment is due in full at the time of booking to guarantee your spot in any class. - Be sure to check the class description for any requirements, such as minimum age, prerequisites, and/or supplies that you need to bring with you to class. - Sign-ups close one calendar day prior to class to allow for instructor preparations, possible cancellation, etc. CANCELLATION/RE-SCHEDULE POLICY: - If a student cancels, Birch must be notified at least 24 hours prior to the class in order to give a full refund. If less than 24 hours, 50% will be refunded. If a student has an emergency cancellation and Birch is informed ASAP prior to class, student will receive a full credit towards a future class if some proof can be provided. - If the class is cancelled due to not enough sign-ups or an instructor emergency, students will be advised by phone or text ASAP, and all will receive a full refund. - No-call, no-shows for classes will not receive a refund OR credit. MISSING A SESSION OF A MULTI-SESSION CLASS: - If a class takes place over 2 or more sessions, it can be difficult to keep up with your project if you miss a session. Reach out to your instructor to see if there is an opportunity to join another class for the missed part, or if you can get assistance at an “Open Studio” time.
